Running is a very popular and much appreciated sport here on Lake Garda.
Early in the morning or in the evening, you can see many runners training on the lake shore while enjoying the view.
Moreover, an international marathon – “Lake Garda Marathon” – which starts in Limone sul Garda and finishes in Malcesine, is held every here in this area.
Thanks to a number of important events, Monte Baldo has become a major destination for running and trail running enthusiasts in recent years. The “Monte Baldo Trail Running” allows you to cross the massif on foot along the ridge with two options: one is 25 km long and has a difference in height of 2,000m, while the other is 36 km long and has a difference in height of 3,200m.
The “Trail dell’Orsa” is a challenging 20 km route through the most evocative places on the eastern side of the mountain. Last but not least, the “Lake Garda Mountain Race”, which starts in Malcesine and reaches an altitude of 2,000m (Cima Pozzette, on Monte Baldo).
