Mountain biking

There are several opportunities for mountain bikers

If you love mountain biking, Lake Garda is the ideal place for you.

This area features amazing bike trails and provides all mountain biking lovers with professional support.

Over a thousand kilometres of trails for every level: for beginners who are looking for something easy, to professionals who wish to train and improve their skills.

The hills in the southern part of Lake Garda offer interesting trails through hornbeam and downy oak woods with the lake playing hide and seek behind the hills. You can also choose to enjoy a day in contact with the nature of Mincio Regional Park, and cycle along a picturesque trail suitable for everyone, one of the most popular cycle paths connecting Peschiera to Mantua, through Valeggio and Borghetto.

Another noteworthy trail is the so-called “Ciclopista del Sole”, a bike trail in the Adige Valley which connects Bolzano to Verona, crossing the hinterland of Lake Garda.

On Monte Baldo, the lovely paths that cross the woods and pastures give you the chance to fully enjoy this beautiful area characterised by old beech woods, meadows and pastures with wonderful flowers.

The military road to Naole, then, allows you to reach an altitude of 2,000m, where you can enjoy breath-taking views of Lake Garda and the main peaks of the central and eastern Alps.

A race has been organised since 2009, which has become increasingly popular over the years and which had over 2000 registered participants last year. Its name is “Granfondo Città di Garda”, as it starts in Garda and includes a cross-country trail about 39 km long with a difference in height of 1,200m.

On the day before this event, a fun race for children takes place – the “Torri Kids Race” –  in order to involve the families of the participants and make the holiday special for everyone.
