Kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is probably the sailing discipline that has had the greatest diffusion in recent years.

Kitesurfing (or kiteboarding) is an extreme water sport that has become incredibly popular in recent years on Lake Garda.

Lake Garda has become the favourite destination for kitesurfing enthusiasts, as here you can find the ideal wind conditions to fly a kite, especially in the area between the municipalities of Brenzone and Malcesine (province of Verona), and in Campione (province of Brescia).

Just north of Malcesine and in Campione, but also in other areas of the upper lake, there are, in fact, two dedicated landing strips.

This sport can be safely practiced here, as there are several sports centres that offer their support during the launching phase and make their motor boats available for rescue operations, directly in the middle of the lake, so that beginners can have fun and enjoy the wind. There are also many renowned schools, which offer courses and lessons for all levels and for all ages, providing all the necessary equipment.

South of Lake Garda, where the basin widens, the wind is usually more gentle, that’s why kiters move to some beaches in the lower lake area to launch their kites when the wind blowing from the northern shore is too strong.
